| Hi everyone,
Although I have lived in Orlando for a long time and am from South Florida, I never made any female friends for one reason or the other. I was always busy with my hobbies or doing my own thing and guess I have always been sort of a 'loner' and trust is an issue as well.
I am not looking for a love/sexual relationship with anyone, I am only reaching out trying to find women like myself who are looking for a friend, someone to talk to, someone to have lunch with occasionally, go shopping or even take our dogs if you have one to the dog park.
I am happily married and am caring for my elderly mother who suffers from Alzheimer's disease. I moved her in with me and my husband last March from her home because she could no longer live alone. My mom goes to a senior center one day a week which gives me one day to myself which really isn't enough but it gives me a little bit of a break. The rest of the time I feel isolated and it would be nice to have someone to chat with. Maybe there is someone out there like me who is caring for their elderly parent or relative and is in need of a friend.
I am not looking for anything at all other than someone to be friends with. I am not a weirdo, I don't smoke, drink or do drugs. I have never been in trouble, don't look for trouble and don't want any trouble. I am family oriented, am a good neighbor and am not interested in getting involved with anyone who is 'shady' or has a criminal background.
I am skeptical about people, suspicious by nature, street savvy and not easily intimidated. I am good natured, have a sense of humor, like to laugh and have good, clean fun. I don't enjoy being around little kids but if you have kids I won't hold it against you. lol.
My kids are grown and I have a little grandson but he lives out West. I do love my kids and grandson and enjoy them but I am not into doing activities that involve children.
I would prefer to meet people more like myself who perhaps are dog owners and/or either have grown kids or no kids.
For some reason, it isn't easy to make friends here in Orlando and it may be because people are so transient. They are always coming and going.
In my former career and trade, I worked primarily with men so I didn't have an opportunity to make any female friends. I am an artist and where I worked, I was the only female.
My sisters all live out of state and there aren't any other relatives that live here in Florida.
So.....life becomes boring at times and although I am not a stranger to doing things by myself, I would like to find a friend or friends. | | | December 22, 2009, 10:28 am | | |
