Description
We're small business fanatics that help you get organized and thrive through marketing plans, DIY tips, templates and guides, and even taking marketing off your plate completely.
We can work with anyone, however, we are really attracted to small businesses like bookstores, wineries, craft and hobby stores, gyms, etc. because we think those businesses are fun to work with and those are the types of shops we frequent ourselves.
All work needs to be guided by a strategy and a plan, so we start there. We have a huge knowledge bank between us so after that, we can lighten your load by handling lots of marketing tactics like social media planning, paid ads, website building and SEO, and email marketing. Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What types of services do we offer?
A: We believe that the best ways to turn current customers into communities are through content, email, and social media. Most small businesses have a lot of opportunities in these areas and they can be both DIY’d if you know the right tools, or easily handled by a partner (like us!). However, since businesses aren't one-size-fits-all, we offer different approaches to meet different budgets.
Q: What types of businesses do we help?
A: At Pastimes Marketing, we’re all about creating opportunities for engaged, repeat customers, and some businesses are naturally a better fit for this strategy. We call those businesses “hobby-related businesses” which simply means, the activities and establishments that come to mind when someone asks you, “What do you like to do for fun?”
We find these small businesses to be the perfect fit because:
1. People love spending time with other people who share their interests, so when it comes to turning customers into a community, these businesses are the perfect candidates.
2. Personally, we love talking to folks about their hobbies. We are naturally curious creatures who feel joy when other people feel joy!
3. We can think like those customers because we are those customers. From trying out new exercise classes to stamping our brewery passports, to puzzles books and games, plants, and everything in between, we love learning new things and trying unique activities!
Q: Why do we focus on retention marketing instead of acquisition?
A: We believe in the power of retention marketing for a variety of reasons:
1. It focuses on the long-term goals of your business instead of short-term revenue spikes.
2. It's cheaper than the costly cycle of constantly trying to find new customers.
3. You'll build authentic word-of-mouth marketing through your regulars, rather than ads to strangers.
