Event Details

Note: The originally scheduled date for this event was September 18, 2021. It has been postponed to May 21, 2022 as a result of the rise in COVID-19 cases and the potential for rapid transmission of the Delta Variant.

The event will celebrate the history of Central Community House, the Near East, and give honors to the everyday heroes, dedicated volunteers, and selfless professionals who work to make our community a better place.

The Village Maker Festival will take place outdoors on the green space at the Walter & Marian English Center for Art & Community (1251 Bryden Road. Columbus, OH 43205). The event will feature an afternoon of live music, performances, and art showcases on the lawn from nationally and locally renowned artists and TRANSIT ARTS youth (our teen/young adult development program that utilizes arts and entrepreneurship to engage young people in positive pursuits).

The event will also include the presentation of Central Community House’s annual Village Maker Awards. Individuals, businesses or groups are nominated from the community and selected by a committee of Board, staff, and volunteers to receive the Village Maker Awards. The actual awards are a framed print of artwork by one of our Master Artists with the TRANSIT ARTS program

The event will also feature food trucks/concessions, beer and wine, artist galleries/shops, games, raffles, and prizes.

Each ticket includes admission to a day full of performances, food from Pitabilities, and non-alcoholic beverages.

*alcoholic beverages are available for purchase with a valid ID

Proceeds from sponsorships and ticket sales are used to help Central Community House serve as a lifeline for over 4,000 people in our community struggling with the effects of poverty and to provide valuable, empowering programs for local children, teens, families, and seniors. Over 100 supporters and fellow advocates for the community will be in attendance.
